Michael Jackson wrote a beautiful song called “Heal the world”. The song reached people all around the Globe spreading a sense of realization to care for each other as humans. It is one of the best songs of all time. Looking at the life of this great talent, a legend in the musical world it makes me wonder in grieve, how such a gifted person can ever go through such a failure in his personal life.
Its true that it was a life well lived in the common sense. It’s true that his words and songs touched millions of hearts. It’s true that his charity helped many poor and the needy. But still there was something dark and empty in his life and it was open for all to see and feel pity about. Jackson missed the fact that the song he sang was meant for him too, a human to be cared for, by himself first!
It is very easy and cruel to find faults and failures in someone’s life without knowing what they actually went through and the circumstances they faced in their life. But one cannot deny the fact that the healing he was talking about was somehow couldn’t be a reality in his own life. I wonder if he had known Jesus, I wish Jesus would have found a place in his heart before he left this world.
“Sometimes our life never reflect what we say; We talk about the betterment of the society, helping the poor and orphans when we are still puffing that 4 inch cigarette to eat away our lungs, becoming good enough to destroy ourselves and our family. We talk about the development and health of this nation when we are very much in to drugs to kill ourself. We talk about abolishment of prostitution, when we are still hooked into that pornography to seek an irrelevant pleasure and living in with someone whom we yet to honor as spouse”.
Jesus asks in Matthew 8:36, “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your soul?” A life well lived will only make sense when we reflect our outward concern in our own lives. It’s very hard for a person who cannot respect his own self or his own value of existence to truly respect and care for others. It’s dangerous for a person whoever he might be to be ironical with himself.
Human beings become better beings when they understand themselves. The greatest search a person can make is to find who he is, and sadly Google can’t provide assistance to this. A man finds himself or understands himself when he finds the One who created him. It’s like the same way a car finds its true self or identity with the person who invented it as he only knows the honest purpose for which it was created. He alone can reveal its true self, though it would have evolved through the years. The true healing for the car comes in the hands of its Maker.
Life is meaningful only when we find the meaning of our life. Till then, we will do all the good deeds and services on the outside but living with an emptiness inside. God created you and me in His own image. The Bible says in Genesis 1:27, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them”. If we are created in the image of God, that is in the image of our Creator and Maker then think how special we are and how important our life is to Him.
We are struggling to find that meaning and Joy in our lives because we have failed to find our Maker. If we don’t know why we are created, we will never know why we exist and we will never find the true Joy of living. If we search Him earnestly, we will surely find Him and most assuredly He will take away the emptiness from our hearts. God says in Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” A life well lived depends on who we are in Him and the world will find its true healing when it finds its true Maker!!!!
